Raw mango / Pacha Manga > ½ portion (medium sized) or ½ cup (pealed & cubed)
Grated Coconut > 1 cup
Shallots > 2-3
Ginger > ½ tsp chopped or small piece
Dry red chilly > 5 or red chilly powder > 1 ½ tsp -2 tsp
Green chilly > 2
Curry leaves > 1 leaf
Salt to taste
METHOD
Roast the dry red chilly / red chilly powder for a minute in low flame to remove the raw smell.
Coarsely grind grated coconut, mango, ginger, shallots, dry red chilly, green chilly, curry leaf & salt without adding water. (if not possible to grind without adding water you can add up to 1 tbp water)
Note :- Mango can be added according to your sourness level. Adjust the use of dry red chilly / green chilly according to your spice preference.
Manga Chammanthi/ Mango Chutney is now ready to be served. It is served well with rice.
