Pulishery \ Mooru Curry

INGREDIENTS

  • Thick curd  >  1 cup
  • Turmeric powder  >  ½ tsp
  • Cumin seed  >  1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seed  >  1/2 tsp
  • Fenugreek seed  >  1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek Powder  >  1/6 tsp
  • Green chilly >  2
  • Shallots  >  2
  • Dry red chilly > 1
  • Curry leaf  >  1 stem
  • Oil  >  1 or 2  tbp
  • Boiled water   >  1/2 cup
  • Salt to taste

METHOD

  • Beat the curd by adding enough boiled water using a spoon/fork.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, when it cracks add cumin seed, fenugreek seed, green chilly, dry red chilly and curry leaf.
  • Then add thinly sliced shallots and sauté till it turn light brown.
  • Now remove the pan from flame, add turmeric powder and fenugreek powder and fry it for 1 sec.
  • Now add the beaten curd to the pan and add enough salt, mix well and keep in low flame till it become warm. Make sure to switch off the flame before it starts boiling.
  • Mooru Curry is now ready to be served.  It is served well with rice.
