Onion Coconut Chutney

Ingredients :

Onion >   1 medium chopped

Grated Coconut >   2tbp

Ginger >  1/4tsp

Tamarind Paste >  ¼ tsp (optional) OR Tomato >  ½ (small)

Chilly Powder  >  1tsp

Green chilly > 1 (optional)

Curry Leaf >   2leaves

Oil  >  1tbp

Salt to taste

Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan add ginger,green chilly, onion & curry leaves and saute till onion become transparent.
  • Now add tomato and sauté till it become soft.
  • Add chilly powder and sauté for 1 minute till the raw smell is removed.
  • Now add grated coconut & salt, sauté for 2-3 minutes. Switch off the flame and allow it to cool.
  • Once it is cooled grind it .

Serve it with Kozhukattai  or Spicy Kozhukattai

Note:-

If you are using tamarind, add it while grinding the mixture.

Use green chilly if you want it spicy.
